Living the RV life is a life of traveling and camping luxuriously. And nobody thinks of sleeping on a fold-out couch or kitchenette. But with single bedroom fifth wheels, that's often what happens.
What is the best Fifth Wheel floor plans with 2 bedrooms? The good news is that there is an entire class of fifth-wheel trailers with a second bedroom. They offer various perks over single bedroom fifth wheels, but they do have a few drawbacks.
But when you've settled on a two-bedroom fifth wheel, you want the best of the best. But finding that perfect two-bedroom fifth wheel can be a ton of work. That's why we did all the dirty work for you; that way, you can focus on finding your dream fifth wheel instead of tracking down page after page of floorplans.
Advantages of a 2 Bedroom Fifth Wheel
Suppose you're traveling with kids or even with groups of friends, a two-bedroom fifth wheel offers an element of privacy that you can't get with a traditional fifth wheel. Both rooms are secluded from the main living area.
That way, you don't have to worry about stepping on each other's toes, and everyone has their own space to retire at the end of a long day. Two-bedroom fifth wheels come with one master bedroom with a queen- or king-sized bed, while the second bedroom usually has twin-sized mattresses.
Even better, some two-bedroom fifth wheels come with a second bathroom. Not only do you get your own private sleeping area, but you also get your own private bathroom!
If you're traveling with a group, 2-bedroom fifth wheels offer a distinct advantage on personal space and privacy over a traditional single bedroom fifth wheel.
Cons of a 2 Bedroom Fifth Wheel
While two-bedroom fifth wheels come with some added perks and benefits, they do have some drawbacks. The biggest drawback is space. While some two-bedroom fifth wheels are slightly bigger than their single bedroom counterparts – most are about the same size.
That means that extra space where the bedroom is at is replacing something. That's usually extra living space, bonus rooms, or enlarged kitchens.
If you're looking for the most luxurious fifth wheels on the market, they usually aren't two bedrooms. However, if you're looking to spend a little more, you can still get a top-notch two-bedroom fifth wheel that doesn't feel like it lacks anything.
However, there's not a thing any manufacturing brand can do to make up for the space that you lose with a second bedroom.
What We're Looking for in a 2 Bedroom Fifth Wheel
Privacy is really what sets a two-bedroom fifth wheel apart from a single bedroom fifth wheel. With that in mind, the areas need to be completely secluded from the main living room and the other bedroom.
We're also looking to ensure that the additional bedroom isn't at the expense of all the living areas. It doesn't matter how excellent the extra privacy is if you don't have a decent-sized kitchen and living room!
Finally, what really sets a two-bedroom fifth wheel apart from the pack is a separate bathroom area. Most don't have a full second bathroom, but those that do have a clear-cut advantage.
Of course, just like single bedroom fifth wheels, you want a fifth wheel that exudes class and luxury. Just because you're getting a second bedroom doesn't mean that the manufacturer can skimp on other areas!
The Top Seven 2 Bedroom Fifth Wheels
If you're willing to spend the money to purchase a two-bedroom fifth wheel, at least take the time to find a fifth wheel that you'll be happy with. Below are the best seven two-bedroom fifth wheels that we could find!
- Transcend EPLOR 297QB
- Cougar Half-Ton 32BHS Fifth Wheel
- Chaparral Lite 29BH – DS0
- Cougar Half-Ton 29MBS Fifth Wheel
- Eagle HTX Fifth Wheel 26BHX
1. Forest River RV Wildwood Heritage Glen LTZ 356QB
When you're looking for a two-bedroom fifth wheel, the Wildwood Heritage Glen LTZ 356QB has everything you're looking for. The second bedroom has two bunk beds and a pull-out trundle bed, allowing you to sleep up to five people there.
Even better, both the master bedroom and the second bedroom have their own full bathrooms attached, meaning you'll never have to share the bathroom in your fifth wheel again!
Unlike other two-bedroom fifth wheels, which cram a second bedroom in, the 356QB floor plan provides a large second bedroom, giving you tons of extra space for storage.
Both bedrooms have their own wardrobe areas, and there's a television hookup in the master bedroom that allows you to add another tv to watch your shows from the comfort of your bed!
While you might think that all this extra bedroom space comes at the expense of a comfortable dining room and living area, that simply isn't the case. You can get a 14.7 cubic foot fridge, and the entertainment stand comes equipped with a 50″ tv!
It has a tri-fold sofa and a “U-shaped” dinette that provides adequate seating for everyone bunking in the fifth wheel.
If there's one con to the Wildwood Heritage Glen LTZ 356QB fifth wheel floorplan, it's that there really isn't a great seat to see the 50″ tv. The trifold couch is so close and at such an angle that it's almost impossible to see the television clearly.
While it's a little better at the dinette, one of the seats is facing the complete opposite way, and if someone is sitting there, then the other people will struggle to see the screen as well. If you're not traveling for the tv, it doesn't really matter, but it can render the screen almost unusable at times.
Pros
- Two large bedrooms
- The second bedroom sleeps up to five people
- Separate bathrooms
- Option for large 14.7 cubic foot
Cons
- Sharp angles to the entertainment center from seating areas
2. DRV Mobile Elite Suites 43 Manhattan Luxury Fifth Wheel
What the DRV 43 Manhattan Luxury fifth wheel lacks in sleeping space, it more than makes up for with luxury. It's true that the second bedroom only has two twin-sized mattresses, but it also has its own dresser and wardrobe area. As long as you're traveling with less than four people, the limited sleeping arrangements won't be a concern.
Even better, it has its own full bathroom attached, meaning that you and your friends/kids will never have to share bathrooms again! It's not just walk-in showers either; it has tub/shower combos in both bathrooms!
While both bedrooms are luxurious, it's the living area that sets this fifth wheel apart from the pack. With an island in the kitchen area, you get tons of counter space, and there is more than enough seating in the living area.
There are two separate couches – with two reclining seats and a love seat directly across from it. You still get a dinette, but instead of cramped bench seating, you get two full-sized chairs. The entertainment area isn't ideal, but the angles aren't quite as rough as the Heritage Glen.
But the biggest drawback to the Mobile Elite Suites 43 Manhattan Luxury Fifth Wheel is the price. It's MSRP is over 200,000, and even buying a used one will cost you over 100,000. But it's called a fifth luxury wheel for a reason.
Everything in it exudes style and class. If you're looking to travel in comfort and make a bit of a statement while doing it, this is the exact fifth wheel that you've been looking for.
Pros
- Has washer dryer hookups
- Separate bathrooms
- Luxurious living areas have plenty of seating
- Spacious kitchen with extra counter space
Cons
- Limited sleeping options – second bedroom only sleeps two people
- The extremely high price tag
3. Transcend XPLOR 297QB
The Transcend XPLOR 297QB is more than what it seems at first blush. While it might only have one bathroom, it makes good use of the extra space it gets by leaving it out.
The second bedroom comes with two overhead twin beds and a full-size residential mattress below. This allows the second bedroom to sleep up to four people. Additionally, the second bedroom has three separate dressers, making sorting and organizing everyone's clothes a cinch.
Even better, each bedroom comes with a tv hookup, and the living room has easy angles to see the television mounted over the booth dinette. There's an option for theater seating in the living area, or you can stick with a standard tri-fold sofa.
One of the best features in the Transcend XPLOR 297QB is that there is storage everywhere. Not only are there three separate dressers in the second bedroom, but there's also overhead storage throughout, a separate large pantry, and a shoe rack as soon as you enter the fifth wheel.
As an added storage bonus, there is a 42″ by 22″ rear storage area that gives you the capability to store all of your extra belongings that you wouldn't be able to bring otherwise.
As a bonus feature, this fifth wheel comes with an outside kitchen equipped with its own 1.6 cubic foot refrigerator. Whether you want to keep the beers close on hand or keep store the essentials for your next meal, you won't need to head into the fifth wheel if you're looking to spend a night under the stars.
As a final 21st century perk, the Transcend XPLOR 297QB's master bedroom has a universal docking station.
Pros
- Tv hookups in both bedrooms
- The second bedroom sleeps four people and has three dressers
- Easy angles to see tv in the living area
- Extra storage space built-in
- Has outside kitchen as well
Cons
- Only one bathroom
4. Cougar Half-Ton 32BHS Fifth Wheel
If you're looking to get into the fifth wheel game but don't want to drop a ton of cash, the Cougar Half-Ton 32BHS fifth wheel is a phenomenal option. The base model starts at just under 50,000 dollars, and the second bedroom sleeps up to four people.
As an added perk, a fold-up grill is attached to the outside of the fifth wheel. So, whether you're looking for a stovetop meal or something a little smokier, this fifth wheel has you covered.
While the base model comes with a regular tri-fold sleeper sofa and a booth dinette, you can upgrade either option to either theater seating or a free-standing dinette. In this way, you only pay for what you want.
Still, the base model lacks many features that put this fifth wheel over the top, and if you don't splurge on some of the added perks, you might end up regretting it down the road.
In fact, even the eight cubic foot refrigerator, microwave, and stainless-steel sink are considered upgrades. It feels a bit like nickel and diming, but the tradeoff is that you get to pick precisely what you want instead of choosing a preset design.
The master bathroom is only a half bath, but this is still better than some other fifth wheel options that don't even come with a separate bathroom. However, since a full bath with a walk-in shower is right off the living area, you'll either have to change in the bathroom or travel across the fifth wheel without being fully dressed – no matter what bedroom you're in.
Pros
- Affordable price tag
- Attached external grill
- Sleeps up to four people in the second bedroom
- Only pay for what you want with customizable upgrades
Cons
- The Master bathroom ha only a half-bath
- The base option has few features
5. Chaparral Lite 29BH – DS0
The Chaparral Lite 29BH – DS0 has some unique features that make it worth checking out if you're in the market for a two-bedroom fifth wheel. The second bedroom is a simple dual bunk bed design, allowing up to four people to sleep there.
It comes with a large wardrobe that can handle the extra clothing that four people use. The living area is large and spacious and comes with a bench-style dinette and a tri-fold sofa. With a caddy-cornered entertainment stand, you get great viewing angles from everywhere in the room.
Even better, the kitchen has a large island with extra usable counter space on both sides of the sink. But all of this pales because what really sets this living area apart is the ability to upgrade the trifold sofa and bench style dinette with a panoramic sectional sofa.
You get removable tables, and this design allows for the ultimate movie night while you're on the road. Or suppose you're looking to add another passenger. In that case, the panoramic sofa is a usable sleeping option, instead of the ultra-small trifold couch that many fifth wheels try to pass off as an additional bed.
The master bedroom comes with his and her wardrobes and a single nightstand. Other than the wardrobes, the master bedroom lacks any notable features.
Pros
- Sleeps up to four in the second bedroom
- Optional upgrade to panoramic sectional sofa
- His/her wardrobe in the master bedroom
- Large kitchen island with extra counter space
- Easy sightlines to the entertainment center
Cons
- Only one bathroom
6. Cougar Half-Ton 29MBS Fifth Wheel
While it might come off to some as a downgrade to the 32BHS floor plan, that's simply not true. The 29MBS fifth wheel floor plan is unique in a variety of ways. The most significant difference is that the two bedrooms are side-by-side, but you don't need to enter one to get to the other.
This offers a few perks since the fifth wheel only has one bathroom. It allows both bedrooms easy access to the bathroom without entering the living area. Additionally, it opens up the living area floor plan and allows the trifold sofa to face the entertainment center directly.
While most other two-bedroom fifth wheels have the entertainment center at an angle compared to the seating arrangements, the unique floor plan of the 29MBS eliminates this problem.
As an added perk, it has a built-in desk in the second bedroom that either the guests or children can use for creative projects or schoolwork!
Like the other Cougar option that we reviewed, the 29MBS floor plan has opportunities for you to upgrade both the dinette and tri-fold sofa if that's what you want. You can get theater seating instead of the trifold sofa and/or get a standalone dinette instead of a booth one.
Because of the additional living space in the dining area, if you upgrade to the standalone dinette, you'll get four standalone seats instead of two.
While there are perks to the 29MBS floor plan, the drawbacks are significant. The most notable is that the second bedroom only has enough sleeping space for two people. Additionally, overall the design feels a bit small.
It feels that way because it is. While the manufacturer was creative with the floorplan to make the most use of the available space, it's still smaller than other fifth wheel options.
Pros
- The seating area is directly facing the entertainment center
- The design clearly separates the living area from the kitchen area
- Built-in desk in the second bedroom
- Optional upgrades for the dinette and trifold sofa
Cons
- Only enough space for two people in the second bedroom
- The overall design feels small
7. Eagle HTX Fifth Wheel 26BHX
The Eagle HTX fifth wheel 26BHX really is a unique floorplan. While it has some unique designs that set it apart, some areas leave you scratching your head, wondering what they were thinking.
The most valuable part of the Eagle HTX fifth wheel 26BHX is that the second bedroom is two double beds. While just about every other floor plan offers twin beds in the second bedroom, this is the only floor plan that we saw that offered two double beds.
However, privacy is a significant concern in the second bedroom. That's because all that separates the second bedroom is a foldable door, and it closes directly against the feet of the two beds.
Another major perk is that the dinette comes standard as a standalone with four separate chairs. It's a great perk that makes eating your meals there a far more enjoyable experience. However, while consuming your meals might be more pleasant, preparing them is far less so.
That's because while it has a full kitchen set up, the extra counter space is behind the sink. In fact, you have to walk around and stand in front of the door to use it. Finding any other counter space is just about impossible.
Adding to the living area's aesthetic issues is that the entertainment stand is at a sharp angle from the tri-fold sofa. This makes it difficult to watch shows or movies for any significant portion of the time.
But what sets this fifth wheel apart is the master bedroom. It's one of the nicest that we looked at, and it comes with enough wall space and the hookups to install a huge tv in the master bedroom. It has two wardrobes, a nightstand, and a large enough area to easily walk between the foot of the bed and the wall where you can mount your television.
It's not the perfect floorplan, but it is incredibly intriguing.
Pros
- Standalone dinette
- Vast and spacious master bedroom
- The Master bedroom has tv hookups
- The second bedroom is two double beds
Cons
- The “second bedroom” is only separated with a foldable door
- Sharp angles to the entertainment stand
- Limited counter space in the kitchen
The Final Verdict
While the battle for best overall was fierce between the Forest River RV Wildwood Heritage Glen LTZ 356QB and the DRV Mobile Elite Suites 43 Manhattan Luxury Fifth Wheel, in the end, we had to give the edge to the more affordable Wildwood Heritage Glen LTZ 356QB.
It's not just that it's more affordable, but it comes with additional comfort features for a fraction of the price. Both are phenomenal options, and if you decide you want just a touch more class and style, the 43 Manhattan might be precisely what you want.
The important thing is that you get out there and see the world! And what better way to do that than with a top of the line luxury fifth wheel? Get camping!
