Dana Oxner is the breeder behind the Caesarheadcoon cattery – a small, home-based cattery in Greenville.

Dana doesn’t breed many Maine Coons, so she usually has a few litters per year. She’s focused on quality, and not quantity in her breeding process.

This breeder explains that Maine Coons are intelligent, loyal, and gentle. Their especially wonderful characteristic is that they’re totally relaxed around other cats, dogs, and children.

Caesarheadcoon cattery actively shows their cats in The International Cat Association locally, and sometimes even travels to show them in nearby countries.

Dana breeds to accomplish the TICA Maine Coon breed standard and strives to raise cats with amazing health and temperament.

All her cats are tested negative for Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM). According to Mia Godiksen, the Maine Coon breed is predisposed to develop this condition. While the true prevalence isn’t known, it may be as high as 9.5-26.3%

Dana also pays special attention to her cats’ nutritional needs. While some of them are on a raw diet only, some others eat high-quality dry food.

All her kittens come with a health and genetic guarantee, and will be vaccinated and vet-checked before they leave the cattery. This usually happens between 12-16 weeks of age.

If you decide to buy from this breeder, this means you will enter a contract with them, agreeing to keep your Maine Coon indoors, to spay/neuter it at the agreed age, and to not declaw it. You can learn more about alternatives to declawing here.

This is a CFA and TICA-registered cattery with the main aim of raising well-socialized and healthy Maine Coon kittens.

These breeders are focused on preserving this amazing breed, rather than on achieving large profit for themselves.

They want each of their kittens to be placed in a loving and safe home.
