ATT Internet Cancellation Fee

ATT does not charge any cancellation fee if you cancel the internet within 14 days of activation. However, if you’re withdrawing it after 14 days, you need to pay some service charges and early termination fees.

Early Termination Fee

The ATT charges an early termination fee if one cancels the internet service after 14 days of activation. It comes to a cost of $15 per month for the remaining contract duration. If there are 10 months left, you would be charged $150 as ETF.

Equipment Return Policy

Unlike many service providers, you can’t simply return the equipment to an ATT store. Instead, you need to visit the nearest UPS/FedEx Office. They will ship the equipment to ATT at no cost.

Note: Make sure to return the items within 21 days of canceling your service, as ATT will charge you a non-return fee of $150 if you fail to return the equipment.

Want To Downgrade or Upgrade The Internet Plan Instead?

ATT allows you to upgrade or downgrade your internet service plan easily through its website. You can also use the app and make changes to your internet plan. The changes take immediate effect, and there would be no need to change the equipment.

Steps To Change ATT Internet Plan:

  • Head over to the Change my Plan webpage or use the app.
  • Look for the other plans option.
  • Now select Compare plans options and choose the best one.
  • Click on Select & review to finalize the process.

If you activated the Wireless service online, you might be eligible to cancel the service online as well. Just visit att.com/myatt and apply for a cancellation request. Otherwise, you would need to visit a nearby ATT store.

ATT Wireless Cancellation Policy

You can cancel your wireless connection anytime you wish. If you have an installment plan, , the outstanding balance for the remaining installments must be paid immediately. This balance will be reflected on your next bill statement.

However, if you don’t have an installment plan, you will be liable to pay an early termination fee if you cancel your wireless service after 14 days of activation.

But if you cancel your wireless service within 14 days of activation and return the equipment in new-like condition, you won’t be charged anything.

Early Termination or Any Other Fee

ETF is a bit different from ATT wireless service. You would be charged a fixed $150 and then minus $4 for each month you used their service. So if you got it for a 2-year contract and decided to cancel the service after one year, your ETF would be $150 – $48 (12 months * $4).

Equipment Return Policy

If you rent the device from AT&T, you can return it to any AT&T retail location within a 14-day return period.

If you fail to return the device within the time limit, you will be charged a non-return fee along with the retail price of the device on your coming bill.

On the other hand, you can also contact ATT and mail the items back to them. ATT can take up to three months to process your return or exchange of the device.

How To Cancel AT&T TV Now?

You can cancel the TV service anytime within the first 14 days without incurring any ETA. However, you would need to pay the charges and return the equipment.

Steps To Terminate ATT TV Now:

  • Call at 800-288-2020
  • Be ready with your account details and PIN
  • Ask the representative to cancel your TV service
  • Provide the necessary details
  • Get the cancellation confirmation

Early Termination Fee

ATT will charge you the same $15 per month for the duration left in the contract as it does with the internet service. However, the thing to note here is that TV service has a longer contract period of 24 months. And hence the termination fee can go as high as $360.

Equipment Return Policy

After cancellation, you must return the equipment to ATT within 21 days. If you fail to do so, you will be charged for the equipment.

To return, you need to go to a nearby FedEx or UPS Store and provide them with your account number and the email you got from ATT. They will take the equipment and send them to ATT at no cost to you.
