If you have a Sharp TV and are looking to set up a universal remote, finding the code is the first step. Sharp TV remote codes come in 3, 4, or 5-digit formats, specific to different TV models, such as Aquos and Elite Sharp TVs.

Programming your Sharp TV remote can be a simple process, even if you have never done it before. Once programmed, you can use your remote to access basic functions on your Sharp TV, such as changing channels, adjusting the volume, or switching inputs.

We’ll start by looking at the most common codes you probably need below, and then we’ll explain how to program your remote, and how to program it without the codes if you want an even easier process.

The Most Common Sharp TV Remote Codes

Although auto-code search might be a more convenient method for some (see our section on that below), it’s still useful to know the most common codes if you do manual programming. Here are some of the most common codes

Common Sharp TV Programming Codes

To use these codes for your Sharp TV, you need to follow the correct programming steps that are specific to your universal remote. Make sure to try different codes if the first one doesn’t work. Remember, these are the most common codes, and they might not necessarily cover every single Sharp TV model in the market.

Be sure to check out our brand-specific Universal Remote guides at this point, which will have better dedicated step-by-step lists for you to follow. Otherwise, you can keep reading on this page!

How To Program Your Remote To A Sharp TV (Step-By-Step)

Example of Universal Remote Pairing to Sharp TV

If you didn’t find your code or brand above, check the manual for your universal remote to find the right code. This is what Sharp TV recommends you do at this stage, actually. While you’re in the manual, see if your remote has auto-code-search and skip to the next section if you do!

To begin the programming process, follow these simple steps:

  1. Turn on your Sharp TV by pressing the power button on the television.

  2. On your universal remote, find the keycode or learning mode button and press it. Sometimes this process is triggered by holding a SETUP key. After the remote is in the pairing mode (look for an LED that flashes, or that blinked a few times), and then hit the device key – TV in this case

  3. Enter the Sharp TV remote code manually, using either the 3-digit, 4-digit, or 5-digit code that corresponds with your specific universal remote control model.

  4. Point the universal remote towards your Sharp TV and press the power button. If your TV turns off, this means the programming was successful. Hit the setup or learning key again to lock it in.

If that didn’t work, you can try more codes, or make sure you’re using the correct pairing path for your unique universal remote. If it did work, be sure to expand your functionality by pairing to a Roku TV, Apple TV, Soundbar, or any of your other home theater devices for streamlined control!

How To Use Auto-Code Search For Sharp TV Remote Programming

Using the auto-code search method can be an efficient way to program your universal remote control for your Sharp TV without needing a code. Here’s how this typically looks, but without knowing your specific universal remote, these steps may be a little complicated. Be sure to pull up the manual for your remote and adapt as needed:

  1. Start by turning on your Sharp TV.

  2. Take your universal remote control and make sure it has working batteries. Locate the appropriate button or buttons for your device, such as the TV button. Some universal remotes might have a Setup button that you’ll need to press before pressing the device button. Press and hold the device button, such as the TV button, until the LED light on the remote control turns on.

  3. With the LED light on, activate the auto-code search mode, typically by pressing and holding down the Setup button on your remote along with the device button. The LED light may blink or change colors to indicate that the remote is in auto-code search mode.

  4. Now, aim your universal remote towards your Sharp TV and release the buttons. The remote will start searching through its database for the appropriate code for your specific TV brand and model. This may take several seconds or even minutes, so be patient. You are waiting for the TV to turn off automatically.

  5. Once the remote finds the correct code, your TV should turn off automatically. At this point, press the Stop button or SETUP key again to lock the code in.

  6. Test your remote control by turning on your TV, adjusting the volume, changing the channels, and accessing other basic functions. If everything works correctly, you have successfully set up your universal remote control using the auto-code search method.

And you really will want to look up the instructions for your remote. At step 4, for instance, on some remotes that’s automatic. But on others, you use the channel buttons to step through codes and test them one by one.
