A Roku PIN is a helpful feature that you can set that requires you to enter a certain PIN number of your choice before you make any purchases on your Roku or before you watch any adult-rated content. However, if you forget your Roku PIN, you can suddenly be locked out of these features. Is it possible to find your Roku PIN after you forget it?

Unfortunately, it is not possible to get your Roku PIN from the device, app, or even their website. In order to use your Roku PIN again, you will need to change it by signing into your Roku account on their website, selecting Update under Pin preferences, and then selecting Change Pin.

So how are you supposed to find your Roku PIN if you don’t have it anymore?

Unfortunately, it is not possible to find your Roku PIN if you have lost it. This goes for their website, their mobile app, and on the Roku device itself.

Roku has never given a statement on why you can’t view your Roku PIN on your profile, but there are some reasonable theories. The most reasonable of these is that not displaying your PIN helps keep your account more secure. If all someone had to do to get your PIN is check your account on the Roku website, then they would be able to easily make purchases on your account.

On the bright side, this does not mean that you are locked out of your Roku account entirely. It is actually possible to change your Roku PIN without access to your old PIN. We’ll get into how to do this in a bit.

How to Reset Your Roku PIN

As we mentioned before, if you have lost or forgotten your Roku PIN, you’re not entirely out of luck. You can still change your Roku PIN without having to type in your old PIN by using the official Roku website. To do this, just follow these steps:

  1. Open the Roku website (found here) and log in to your account.

  2. On your “My Account” page, you should see a column labeled “PIN preference”. Under this column, you should click on the purple button that says “Update”.

  3. Next, you’ll be on a page labeled “Choose your PIN preferences”. On this page, you should be able to enter and confirm a new PIN for your account.

  4. While you are on this page, you can change your other PIN settings like whether or not you want your Roku to ask for the PIN when downloading free apps or only when downloading paid apps.

  5. You can also change your parental guidance settings here. You can pick exactly which TV ratings you are okay with your children watching without having to enter the PIN.

  6. Confirm all of your choices by clicking “Save Changes.”

After this, you should have successfully reset your Roku PIN. To prevent this from happening again, you may want to consider writing down your new Roku PIN so you won’t forget it. After writing it down, be careful to store it somewhere where others won’t find it.
