Once famous for its classic films, AMC is now better known for its iconic TV series like The Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, and Mad Men. AMC Plus, the company's premium streaming service, offers even more from AMC’s TV networks and streaming brands, plus exclusive content you won’t find elsewhere. But with such competition in the streaming marketplace, is AMC+ worth it?
AMC+ Overview
Owned by AMC Networks, AMC+ was launched in June 2020. At the time, it was only for Xfinity customers. Over the next year, AMC Plus became available through other providers, including Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, Dish Network, Roku, Sling TV, and Youtube TV. It wasn't until August 2021 that the platform launched as a standalone app for TVs and other devices.
As one of the best TV streaming services, AMC+ features TV shows and movies from its own library, as well as streaming brands that include Shudder, IFC Films Unlimited, and Sundance Now. AMC Plus also features content from BBC America. Currently, the service is available in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Spain, and India.

Is AMC Plus Worth It?
AMC Plus features an extensive library of iconic AMC series. You’ll also find content from AMC's other streaming brands, like horror flicks on Shudder and artistic, independent movies from IFC Films Unlimited and Sundance Now.
Plus, if you’re a fan of British content, AMC+ has a good selection of programs from BBC America. In addition, AMC+ boasts some exclusive originals, as well as early access to new episodes of some series to help you avoid spoilers and stay ahead of the curve.
That said, AMC+ is missing some notable series, which might be disappointing for fans. Because of licensing deals with Netflix, “Breaking Bad” is not available. Some episodes from signature shows like “The Walking Dead” are also missing.
If you're a Hulu subscriber, it’s worth noting Hulu does not carry any AMC content. So, if you’re a fan of AMC shows, AMC+ might be a valuable addition to your streaming lineup.
However, if you're looking for family-friendly content or sports, AMC+ might not be the best fit. Its focus is on mature programming, with lots of intense dramas, dark comedies, and psychological thrillers.
AMC+ also emphasizes quality over quantity, with a narrow catalog of curated content. If you’re looking for a broader range of programming, you might find other streaming services more suitable.

Is AMC Plus Worth Paying For?
If you're a fan of AMC's original series or have a taste for quality indie films, AMC+ is an excellent choice. The service offers an impressive lineup at an incredibly reasonable price, but its value ultimately depends on your viewing preferences.
Starting at just $4.99 per month, AMC+ offers an affordable way to enhance your entertainment options. It's a great option for supplementing your existing streaming subscriptions with high-quality AMC content, but it’s not designed to replace cable TV entirely. And, if you aren't into AMC's style of programming, you're not likely to find it worth the price.
